California’s Prop 19 Initiative Is Looking for a Sugar Daddy

How much does it cost to put a ballot initiative like proposition 19 on the ballot, or the original prop 215 that came before it? The answer to that question is a lot. The first time around, the 1996 medical marijuana initiative had many big donors, such as George Soros, but this year Proposition 19 has attracted few large donations outside of Richard Lee, the dispensary entrepreneur who sponsored the trail breaking initiative.

Montana Medical Marijuana Program Has a Wild Week

Montana announces new change in proof of residence policy for medical marijuana applicants and in the legal review process find a loophole in the state law. The new policy was set to go into effect on Monday. On Friday, the new announcement was that the applications process will remain as it is, meaning that out-of-staters may qualify for the Montana medical marijuana program.

According to Armentano, given America’s current underfunded drug treatment resources and our inability to meet demand, it is shocking and shameful that so many drug treatment facilities are being used to warehouse minor marijuana offenders who have run afoul of the law. In 2007, almost 40 percent of the estimated 288,000 people who entered drug treatment for cannabis use hadn’t even used it in the 30 days previous to their admission with another 16 percent reporting they used marijuana fewer than three times in the month before admission to treatment, hardly pot addicts worthy of drug rehab.

The former police officer that has helped scores of cannabis consumer to “never get busted again” is, himself in hot water. Texan Barry Cooper who produced and starred in the DVD “Never Get Busted Again” was arrested on charges of filing a false police report and for possessing a small amount of marijuana on Tuesday night.
