Medical Cannabis reform is laid to rest for 2011 in Washington state. The latest effort from Sen. Jeanne Kohl-Welles has died in the Washington State Legislature. Kohl-Wells told reporters that it represents the greatest disappointment of her legislative career. She saw the bill she worked hundreds of hours on pass the senate, only to be mostly vetoed by Gov. Chris Gregoire, who justified rejecting the new legislation because she didn't want to put state workers at risk of federal prosecution if they passed medical cannabis regulations.
