Stephen Conlin, Arrested on Marijuana Charges

A city council candidate in southeastern Minnesota has been jailed after authorities say they discovered marijuana growing at his home and business. Stephen Conlin is one of four candidates running for two seats on the St. Charles City Council. Friday night, police raids on his home and business turned up high grade marijuana, $1,100 in cash and half a dozen guns.

The 52 year old was taken into custody at his home. Winona County Sheriff Dave Brand said officers executing search warrants discovered seven marijuana plants in a grow-room in Conlin’s home, 61 plants drying in a utility shed and 17 1/2 pounds of processed marijuana. Additional marijuana plants were seized from his business place, a barber shop, on Whitewater Ave. in St. Charles. The case has been referred to the Winona County Attorney. Conlin remains in jail, and his name will appear on the November 2nd ballot.
