Travis Stock and his friends look over cannabis returned to him by police

[Redding California - KHSL Channel 12] In a sign that times are really changing, police in California had an awkward exchange Tuesday as they handed over 18 pounds of cannabis to a Red Bluff man. Travis Stock’s home was raided in October on suspicion of possessing marijuana for sale and conspiracy. Travis and three of his friends  were tending to 11 plants outside of Stock’s home when they were arrested.  Stock and two of the men had a license to grow medical marijuana, all four of the men had a recommendation for medical marijuana .  Stock fought the case, and in December the charges were dropped against all the men. Stock had to pay a $1,211 fine and he received two years probation for possession of a Chinese throwing star and switchblade knife, which he said were decorations hanging on the wall.  A judge later ruled that all confiscated items, including the marijuana be returned. On Tuesday Stock and his three friends picked up the pot from the Red Bluff Police Department. He said that it felt really weird with all the cops, and he said it seemed like it felt weird for the police as well. Police officials said that this is the first time they have been forced to return narcotics (their word, not mine) to a citizen. They stand by their decision to raid Stocks home and will not change the way they enforce marijuana laws in the city.  Well, at least he got his 18 pounds of cannabis returned…

A  great photo journal of the return on the cannabis by photographer
