XINHUA- World’s first store of hemp-made clothes debuts in China
Zhejiang Province, Jan. 12 Xinhua, the official press agency of the government of the People’s Republic of China reports:
World’s first store selling hemp-made clothes exclusively has debuted in east China’s Zhejiang Province.
The hemp fiber, after being detoxified, excels at absorbing moisture, shielding radiation and ultraviolet rays, said Zhang Jianchun, a researcher with the General Logistics Department of the People’s Liberation Army.
The fiber was worn by soldiers during the national day parade in 2009, and they liked it, said Zhang.
The store, “Han Ma Sheng Huo Guan,” which opened in Ningbo City Friday, sells hemp-made products including clothes, bath towels and sheets.
“I’ll try to see if they really have special functions,” said a consumer selecting shirts in the shop.
According to this official press release the Chinese have discovered a way to detoxify hemp fiber. The silly Chinese don’t know that hemp fiber is non-toxic and the hemp plant is not psychoactive! . . . Doh! Wait a minute, the U.S. Department of Agriculture says hemp is a drug, too. Otherwise, American farmers would be allowed to harvest this versatile and lucrative crop. Maybe we should learn about the Chinese “detoxification” process.

Man,What in the world is going on with our Governments Thinking? They seem stuck on Dumb,Dumb. They are intentionally trying to Destroy our Country by every means possible. How can you justify Tobacco,Alcohol and other Legal Drugs that KILL People and say that Marijuana is a Gate way Drug.Prohibition is Killing Our Nation and Our Government is Behind all the Deaths of those that have lost their Lives in the Last 73 Years.WE the People need to say enough is enough.End Prohibition.Tell Our elected officials we want this and if your not for it,it is time for you to move on to your next job?I am a Christian and I believe that you can’t make someone change even GOD wouldn’t push himself on someone. He Loves us so much,Even the Lord allows you to choose the way you want to Live. You reap what you sow.I know I’m getting off the topic “Sorry”.Hemp is the Future.
I agree with you. I’m afraid that I’ll sound like a lunatic, because it seems to me to be nearly the perfect plant. – Whole, wholesome food, the very best natural fiber bar none, useful natural herbal tonic and medicine. All in one fast-growing, low-maintenance crop. The fiber is excellent for paper clothing, building materials and many other uses. Not experimental uses, either. Sure-fire economically-viable uses. Growing this crop, our farmers would be able to rebuild our economy from the roots to the breadbasket! Why is this valuable crop illegal to grow? We’ve all heard it before. The fiber and drug interests wanted cannabis outlawed so they could cash in on investments they had made in things like nylon, forest land, aspirin, codeine, etc. The prohibition of cannabis is just one factor which has led to the current economic climate which favors corporate control of production. The typical American farm is now a huge corporate truck farm where seasonal laborers earn less-than adequate wages and where genetically-engineered clones yield inferior but inexpensive produce which is processed, packaged, and sold at inflated prices! My vegetables used to be plants grown from the earth and now they’re products advertised on T.V. by Madison Avenue experts! The little guy has to take what he’s given. Anyway, I agree with you. You reap what you sow. Exactly. For some reason that always rings true, and I’m one of those I-only-believe-it-if-I-can-touch-see-smell-feel-hear-it people so I won’t go so far as to say hemp is God-given, but it sure is a potentially invaluable plant and it seems that today’s cannabis laws are backwards, because it seems that the crime is to keep it illegal!
